I am a self-taught artist who has spent many years raising four children, helping my husband run a small business and painting in my spare time. Now that my children are grown, I am pursuing my life-long passion for painting. I have recently started taking classes at the Southside Art League and am always learning new things.
I mostly paint on canvas and linen with oils, but I am also learning to paint with pastels, and I enjoy decorative gourd painting.
My inspiration comes from the love of nature, animals and children. I am a member of the Southside Art League and the Indiana Heritage Arts.
I feel that I am just getting started! My recent accomplishments include 3rd place at the juried spring Rising Sun show in 2011 for "Twig Bowl & Fruit", first place for the same painting in the amateur division of the Fall Patron show in 2010 at the Brown County Art Gallery, and for showings of "Faith" and "Friendly Mr. Fox" in the Rising Sun fall show of 2011.
